History of the Warren/Clinton Co. Agency
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Warren and Clinton Counties, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt affiliate Organization of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America (BBBSA). The agency serves all of both Warren and Clinton Counties of Ohio. We are funded through the United Ways of both Warren and Clinton Counties, by special fund-raising events organized by the Volunteer Board of Directors and through contributions of caring parties.
Originally, the Agency was a satellite of Big Brothers and Sisters of Middletown, Ohio but, in 1978 the Agency was incorporated, received tax-exempt status, and became independently affiliated with the National Organization. Until 1993, the agency served only Warren County children. In 1993, the citizens of Clinton County indicated needs among Clinton Co. children and requested expansion of the service to serve Clinton County children also.
The service provided to the children and their families in both counties are FREE of charge. We seek to match children between the ages of 6 and 15 with volunteers. However, youth in a current match may remain in that match until age 18 or High School graduation. Match commitments are generally for 1 year although matches average 3.5 years together in our program.
